American Water Completes Sale of Operations in Arizona and New Mexico
American Water Works Company, Inc. (NYSE: AWK), a publicly traded U.S. water and wastewater utility company, today announced the financial close of its sale of regulated operations in Arizona and New Mexico to EPCOR USA. The agreement of sale was announced on January 24, 2011, at a purchase price of $470 million. The pre-tax gain on sale, prior to allocation of a portion of the goodwill from the parent company, is approximately $50 million. 2012/01/31

Severn Trent Services Awarded Ammonia Removal Project
Severn Trent Services has been awarded a framework agreement to provide its TETRA® NSAF tertiary ammonia removal technology to Thames Water Utilities Ltd. The TETRA NSAF contract will support Thames Water’s multi-billion pound capital programme for AMP 5 – an asset management planning period from 2010 to 2015. The contract awarded to Severn Trent Services covers three years with optional extensions in two-year increments for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of wastewater treatment packaged plants. 2012/01/31
