Gary Cornell, Chairman/CEO, Blacoh Fluid Control, was recognized by the Hydraulic Institute for his technical leadership and contributions in the creation of ANSI/HI Standards.
Mr. Cornell was Chair of the committee that revised Air-Operated Pumps for Nomenclature, Definitions, Application, and Operation, ANSI/HI 10.1-10.5-2010. This standard is an excellent resource for anyone unfamiliar with the operating principles of air-operated diaphragm and bellows pumps. The reader will quickly understand how air-operated diaphragm pumps are able to handle many kinds of liquids, including abrasive slurries, viscous liquids, and liquids containing high solids content. Air-operated bellows pumps are designed to handle some of the harshest chemicals by using materials appropriate for the service.
Mr. Cornell was Chair of the committee that updated the standard for Air-Operated Pump Tests, ANSI/HI 10.6-2010. This newly revised standard applies to the test of air-operated pumps. We believe this to be the most informative, useful test standard for air-operated diaphragm and bellows pumps and an essential reference for users of these pumps. General guidelines for the test setup are provided to ensure accurate and consistent test results. This standard also provides uniform procedures for mechanical and other pump performance testing and for recording of the test results of air-operated diaphragm and bellows pumps.
