HOBAS Manager Receives 2011 Harry P. Croft Award

This award is presented annually to a member of the New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) for his/her distinguished and outstanding service to the Association or the field of water pollution control.

John Mele, Area Manager North Atlantic Region for HOBAS Pipe USA has been awarded the 2011 Harry P. Croft Award. This award is presented annually to a member of the New Jersey Water Environment Association (NJWEA) for his/her distinguished and outstanding service to the Association or the field of water pollution control.
Mele has been in the Water & Wastewater industry for over 30 years and has been actively involved with the NJWEA for over 20 years. He was a NJWEA representative to the WEF House of Delegates. In addition, he has served as President of the Central Section of the NJWEA and serves on state level committees within NJWEA and is a member of New York Water Environment Association (NYWEA).
He has participated with the Water Environment Federation (WEF) for over 17 years and is currently participating on the WEF “Government Affairs Committee.” In the past he has served as a WEF Director and on the WEF Board of Trustees. Additional accomplishments include the following: member of the Sludge Shoveler and Golden Manhole Societies; former Mayor and present chair of the Planning Board; completed the Municipal Elected Officials Certification Program offered by the Center of Government Services at Rutgers University; present chairperson of the Monmouth County Stormwater Advisory Committee for the county Planning Board and Commissioner within the County Government.
