Mr. Melton was asked to lead the growth of this enterprise after serving as a member of the Board of Directors 1-800 Home Services Group Ltd®.
Mr. Melton has served as a senior executive with Taylor Interests and several of its operating businesses, holding the positions of Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, Managing Director and Senior Advisor. These businesses have included technology, professional services, strategic consulting, distribution and natural resources.
Prior to joining Taylor Interests, Mr. Melton served as Chief Financial Officer of Valencia Group, a developer and operator of upscale hotels across North America. In addition to leading Valencia’s finance and accounting groups, he was responsible for the commercial and legal compliance, risk management, human resource and information technology functions of the company.
“This is a strong foundation and it needs to be, because we’re building a great house on it together,” Mr. Melton said when addressing the staff at a meeting. “We will not waiver in our dedication to excellence in every area of our business. Together we will build the dominant home services business in North America.”
Mr. Melton grew up in a state park in rural west Texas and attended Princeton University where he received an A.B. in Economics and was captain of the track and field team. He serves on the boards of two companies and a charitable organization. He and his wife, Tiffany, have three children and reside in Houston, Texas.
