Anaergia Names Watzeck Chief Executive Officer

BURLINGTON, ON, CANADA - October 12, 2011 - WastewaterPR.com - Anaergia Inc., a global leader in the generation of clean energy from organic waste streams, announced that its Board of Directors has appointed Steve Watzeck as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). As CEO, Mr. Watzeck, 46, succeeds the company’s founder, Dr. Andrew Benedek, 68, who will remain with the company as Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer.

As CEO, Mr. Watzeck, 46, succeeds the company’s founder, Dr. Andrew Benedek, 68, who will remain with the company as Executive Chairman and Chief Technology Officer.

Steve Watzeck spent the last 5 years with General Electric Water and Process Technologies in the roles of Chief Strategy & Marketing Officer, President, Engineered Systems, General Manager, Global Engineering and Project Execution and General Manager of ZENON after its acquisition by General Electric in 2006. In these roles, Mr. Watzeck was a key member of the executive leadership team in developing the strategy, integrating the platforms and building a world leading multi-billion dollar water business for General Electric from its various acquisitions. Steve Watzeck joined ZENON in 1994, and held several positions of increasing responsibility for international and North American business development and commercial activities, including serving as Senior Vice President, Americas and Vice President, Municipal. At ZENON, Mr. Watzeck was a key driver for commercializing and scaling the proprietary membrane technology at a compounded growth rate of 35%. Steve Watzeck earned a Master of Business Administration from York University and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Western Ontario.
