Anaergia Names Lukens President of North American Operations

BURLINGTON, ON - October 13, 2011 - WastewaterPR.com - Anaergia Inc., a global leader in the generation of clean energy from organic waste streams, today announced that Kim Lukens has been appointed as President of the company’s North American Operations. Lukens is responsible for strategic leadership, organizational development and overall business performance of Anaergia’s North America Operations, and establishing Anaergia as the industry leader in generating sustainable energy and creating valuable byproducts from organic wastes and residues.

Anaergia Inc., a global leader in the generation of clean energy from organic waste streams, today announced that Kim Lukens has been appointed as President of the company’s North American Operations. Lukens is responsible for strategic leadership, organizational development and overall business performance of Anaergia’s North America Operations, and establishing Anaergia as the industry leader in generating sustainable energy and creating valuable byproducts from organic wastes and residues.

An industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in the environmental management and water/wastewater industries, Lukens has held technical and senior management positions with leading technology and engineering construction companies, including Siemens Water Technologies, USFilter, and Raytheon Engineers and Constructors.

Prior to joining Anaergia, Lukens was a key member of the Siemens Water Technologies senior management team, responsible for strategic planning and global platforms development, and transforming the company’s industrial water and wastewater solutions into a world-leading business for Siemens. His seven-year stay at Siemens included positions as Senior Vice President, General Industry Solutions, Vice President, Integrated Solutions, and General Manager, Industrial Wastewater Systems of Veolia/USFilter after its acquisition by Siemens in 2004.

Previously at USFilter, Lukens was a key driver in building the company’s industrial water and wastewater operations platform that achieved a compounded growth rate of greater than 20% with increasing profitability. Joining USFilter in 2001, Lukens held several positions of increasing responsibility for the company’s North American operations, including Director, Sales and Application Engineering, and General Manager of the Industrial Wastewater Systems business.

Lukens holds a Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Drexel University, a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering Pennsylvania State University, and is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania.
