McLaughlin Group, a leading manufacturer of vacuum excavation systems, has introduced a full line of truck-mounted vacuum excavation systems with tank capacities ranging from 1600 to 3000 gallons. The Mega Vac line features two power plant options — a 67 horsepower Kubota diesel engine with a 1025 cfm blower or a 99 horsepower Kubota engine with 1200 cfm. Both power plant options produce 15 inches of mercury. A deep vacuum power plant option is also available featuring the 99 horsepower engine with 1200 cfm and 24 inches of mercury.

McLaughlin uses a three-stage filtration system that allows for both wet and dry vacuum excavation. First, material enters the tank at 130 mph and the large soil particles lose velocity and fall out of the filtration system. Next, the air moves to a pre-filter cyclone where the remaining small particles drop into a collection tank. Finally, the pre-filtered air enters a washable micron-poly filter that traps any remaining fine particles.

All McLaughlin Mega Vacs feature a single skid design for ease of installation on truck bodies, standard hydraulic lift cylinders for efficient tank dumping, the McLaughlin-patented Cam-Over Full-Open Hydraulic Rear Door, curbside operator controls, as well as McLaughlin’s patented In Tank Wash System. Plus the Mega Vac line is available with all standard options. The McLaughlin vacuum excavator line is available through the Vermeer dealer network.
