Woodard & Curran Awarded 10-year Contract to Operate Maple Shade’s Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems

PORTLAND, ME - August 27, 2010 - WastewaterPR.com - Woodard & Curran has been awarded a 10-year, $2.23 million per year contract to operate the Township of Maple Shade’s water and wastewater treatment systems. Under the agreement, the firm will take on all responsibility for staffing, operating, and maintaining the Township’s two groundwater treatment plants and its wastewater treatment facility, along with the associated systems.

Woodard & Curran has been awarded a 10-year, $2.23 million per year contract to operate the Township of Maple Shade's water and wastewater treatment systems. Under the agreement, the firm will take on all responsibility for staffing, operating, and maintaining the Township's two groundwater treatment plants and its wastewater treatment facility, along with the associated systems.

The Township of Maple Shade is a community of approximately 20,000 residents. Its water treatment systems consist of two groundwater treatment plants with average daily flows of 1.9-million gallons per day (MGD) and 0.5 MGD respectively. The system also includes several groundwater wells, a million gallon storage tank, and an extensive distribution system serving the 4,400 residential, commercial, and industrial users. Wastewater treatment is provided by a 3.4-MGD facility with a 53-mile collection system and nine pump stations.
